Washington, D.C. – Hundreds of policymakers and opinion leaders in Washington, D.C. and throughout the country are again focusing on Greece’s Oxi Day story. It occurred as they began nominating individuals – who today display the David vs. Goliath courage for freedom and democracy that the Greeks showed in WWII – for Oxi Day Foundation Awards and $5,000 cash prizes.
The nominators are from among over three hundred Members of Congress and Senators, White House and State Department officials, researchers at think tanks and universities, Jewish community leaders, heads of major nonprofit human rights and democracy organizations and members of the media. The Awards will be presented as part of the Third Annual Washington Oxi Day Celebration on October 24.
