The 2026 OXI Awards and Celebration is scheduled for October 28-29, 2026 in Washington, DC.
The Washington Oxi Day Foundation honors today’s remarkable heroes who — in the spirit of the Oxi Day Greeks — have risked, and in some instances lost, their lives to courageously battle the world’s “Goliaths” for freedom and democracy. Some nominated by America’s policymakers and global opinion leaders, their tremendous courage is recognized before international and national leaders convening in Washington, D.C.
For the first time, the Oxi Day events will take place at the Washington National Cathedral and National War College.

For her unrelenting courage, despite detainment and significant risks, in insisting on returning to the front lines on numerous occasions to expose the atrocities in Russian prisons in which she later died.

For his extraordinary courage to use his lyrics as an Iranian rapper to call out the human rights abuses of the Iranian regime, despite numerous imprisonments and torture.
