Save Ukraine

The Save Ukraine Center for Mutual Assistance first began its work in the summer of 2014. The Center was established as a platform for coordinating the activities and interaction of charitable organizations, volunteers, Christian churches, and other organizations to aid frontline cities in eastern Ukraine. Particular attention is provided to families and children who find themselves in dire and vulnerable circumstances.

Since its inception, the Center has focused on evacuating vulnerable populations from Ukrainian war zones and in the distribution of food, hygiene kits, baby food kits, clothing, footwear, medicine, and fuel to residents in the buffer zone. Concurrently, with the help of volunteers, representatives of Christian churches, and selfless partners, work has been carried out to restore residential buildings and children’s institutions.

As of 2015, the focus of the Center’s work has been to ensure the realization of children’s rights, their protection, and supporting families with children. Together with their partners, Save Ukraine has organized efforts in the recreation and rehabilitation of children in Ukraine and abroad. In the past year alone, the Center has helped return children forcibly transferred by Russia back to Ukraine. The Mutual Aid Center covers the entire buffer zone along the demarcation line in eastern Ukraine with volunteer assistance centers in 27 different settlements.

In cooperation with donors and international partners, the Center is actively working in creating and developing projects aimed at meeting the most basic needs of protecting children and preventing the removal of children from families, orphanhood, homelessness, and domestic violence.

The Save Ukraine Mutual Assistance Center has been recognized by the United Nations and is included in the Humanitarian Response Plan for 2016, 2017 and 2018. As a member organization it is recommended by the United Nations for funding by international partners.
