Victoria Roshchyna (1996–2024) was a Ukrainian journalist known for her courage in reporting from the frontlines of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. She covered life under occupation, the Siege of Mariupol, and other dangerous events for outlets like Ukrainska Pravda, Radio Free Europe, and Hromadske. Despite being detained, threatened, and even fired upon, she continued her work and in fact insisted on it, despite being cautioned against it.

In March 2022, her car came under fire from Russian tanks and then shortly after she was detained by Russian forces for ten days. She was released after being forced to record a statement praising her captors. Rather than retreating from her efforts, she continued to expose the atrocities she encountered. She disappeared in August 2023 while reporting in Russian-occupied territory and was later confirmed to have died in Russian detention, with evidence of torture. Her body was returned to Ukraine in 2025. She was 27 years old.

Her bravery and dedication made her a powerful voice for truth until her death and a continued example to all who pursue truth, justice and freedom.
